A simple yet effective lace pattern showcases several different effects. The dyed-across yarn is carefully stacked in the top and bottom tiers, beginning at the middle of the side color. For the center tier, the colors are shifted so the side colors are in the middle, producing a different stack of colors with every-other-row subtleties. The entire capelet is framed in natural and is shaped at the top with decreases and at the front with short-row wedges. This allows shaping to occur without visually interrupting the stacks, and complements the cast-on edge.
