Crenulation Socks
Stripy wool socks with that extra strength that’s needed in the heels and toes. This is achieved in 2 ways, firstly I suggest that you we use an additional 50 gram ball of matching wool/nylon blend yarn especially for the heel and toes AND a reinforcing stitch is used in these areas too.
The pattern starts off at the cuff where there is an optional crenulation edging created by stacking your decreases, and heads off to the toes where the Kitchener stitch is used to finish off the sock.
