This is as EASY as crochet gets! A perfect beginner project! And it really shows off the hand dyed yarn perfectly. Other thin “sock” or “sport weight” yarns would work great. Tension gauge doesn’t really matter too much, just as long as it’s close. If your yardage is off, just stop when you run out!

The beads are put on after. I have no experience in jewellery making and it still turned out fine, so don’t be afraid! I needed 167 beads and metal headpins (wire connecty things). The beads are pretty much a requirement as they help hold out the mesh - weight it down. Without beads, I think you would have a very squishy scarf…not bad if that’s what you want.
