When I had the opportunity to create a sample for this issue’s “Learn Something New” article on the Channel Island Cast On and the Channel Island Bind Off, I thought of springtime. I was thinking in terms of a headband that would be cool enough to wear as the weather became warmer, so I selected linen yarn in two springtime shades. As I created the gauge swatch, I saw that the pattern looked like pale purple crocuses pushing their way up through the last traces of snow. What could be a better sign of spring than one of the first flowers that appears?
