Cromarty Sweater
Pattern description from The Celtic Collection: “The Celtic crosses suggested the strong vertical panels and square shaping of this sweater, while the icy blue colour and textured surface reflect the stone material. I used a unit of knotwork from the Nigg stone for the sweater’s centre panel. The side and centre sleeve panels have a typical pattern found on numerous Pictish stones in Eastern Scotland.”
Knitted Measurements:
- One size fits bust 86-97 cm/34-38”
- Underarm 114 cm/45”
- Length from top of shoulder 57 cm/22”
- Sleeve length 43 cm/17”
Materials:
- Yarn: 15 50g balls of Rowan DDK in shade no. 665 (Ice Blue).
- One pair 3¾mm (US5) needles.
- 1 Cable needle.
- Stitch marker.
- Darner.
The specified yarn is no longer available. Judging by the suggested needle size and gauge, a DK weight yarn seems a reasonable substitute. Yardage stated above is approximate.
No kit is available from Virtual Yarns.
