Quick and Fun Knit!! - Meandering rivers of stockinette stitch in a bed of dropped stitches make for a surprisingly quick knit. The stitch pattern looks great on both sides, is easy to memorize, and is a fun way to spice up your wardrobe.
The sample shown was worked in fingering weight yarn but it would be just as beautiful in worsted or dk weights. Try it in a bulky yarn for an even faster, squishier scarf!! Add more repeats of the pattern stitch to make it wider as a wrap or shawl.
Complete written and charted instructions are included. Uses approx. 700 yds of fingering or sock weight yarn for a scarf that is 10 x 75 inches.
Skill level is rated “easy”. Width is easily adjusted for a wrap or shawl by doing more repeats of the pattern stitch.
Sample knit shown used 5.25 oz/150g or 695 yds/637.5m of fingering weight yarn.
The Crooked River runs for 125 miles through Central Oregon. The Crooked River experience is one of rugged, dramatic canyons, enthusiastic fish, Wild and Scenic tracts, bald eagles and kingfishers, and cool, spring-fed headwaters.
