There are two versions to the Crossed Stitch cloth.

Version A - Tunisian Crossed Stitches
Uses 43 yards of Ecru and 35 yards variegated yarn.
Gauge is 5 stitches and 7 rows for 2 1/4”

Version B - Tunisian Extended Crossed Stitches
Uses 45 yards of Ecru and 36 yards variegated yarn.
Gauge is 4 extended stitches is 2” and 4 rows is 1 7/8”

A regular crochet hook may be needed for the final row of single crochet all-around as the border.
