Crossing Eiden
This sweater is the culmination of years of experimentation, and a fortunate discovery! I was inspired by Celtic cables in the crosses of Scotland, and wondered how to work them with the brioche stitch. Traditional methods made the fabric too bulky, but when I happened upon the brioche star stitch, everything clicked. Within a day I had cast on my sweater, and it was finished in time to wear to EYF - the Edinburgh Yarn Festival in 2019. The photos were taken in front of St. John the Baptist Church, and in a close off High Street along the Royal Mile. Dun Eiden was the original name of the fort built on or near Castle Rock and was later called Edinburgh.
