Crossing Paths is the first pattern of the Green Bank Summer Collection. The collection is great value for money compared with buying the individual patterns.
We all take many paths in life, whether literal paths through town or country or paths we take through living. Either way along each path we meet many people who will touch our lives in so many different ways; subtle changes or huge impacts, some that know it and some that are totally oblivious to the effect they have on us. Our paths are sometimes parallel, sometimes they twist and turn and often they cross.
Crossing Paths is a top down crescent shaped shawl influenced by the paths we take, the people we meet and the sparkle they add to our lives. Of course, all paths lead to home and the lace border consists of large holes, stitch explosions and beading which makes me think of the people we have lost, the new family members and that life sparkles through rain or shine.
The shawl shown, using DyeDianaDye PurBamboo HL, measures 20.5 inches (52 cm) deep and 68 inches (172.5 cm) wide before blocking and 23.5 inches (60 cm) deep and 75 inches (190 cm) wide after. You will also need just under 1200 Miyuki size 5 triangular beads (for the PurBamboo) or size 6 seed beads if using a lighter yarn (as there are so many beads!)
It is amazing how many people have touched our lives when you really think about it. I am happy that our paths have crossed and hope you enjoy knitting Crossing Paths.
You will find it useful to print your pattern on a colour printer or colour your bead placement with coloured pencils.
This pattern has a schematic with measurements, is charted and has full written instructions.
If you like my designs please join us in the Boo Group where you will find a place to discuss my patterns, show off your knitting and hear about KALs and MKALs.
