Crown Town Hat
Celebrate your Kansas City pride with this clever Crown Town Hat! Pattern is knit seamlessly, bottom-up in sport weight yarn, with a simple stranded crown, and duplicate stitched initials. Pattern includes instructions for a hemmed brim with an optional chart commemorating our 2015 World Series victory or an option for a simpler ribbed brim, and comes in four sizes to fit KC lovers of all ages!

SIZES + MEASUREMENTS
Pattern is written for 4 sizes to accommodate kids and adults. Directions are given for Infant size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses as follows: Infant (Child, Adult S/M, Adult L/XL). All sizes except Infant have a touch of slouch. I’ve included notes on modifying for a more snug fit.
CIRCUMFERENCE: 14 (16¾, 19½, 22¼)”
DEPTH: 6 (7, 8, 9)”
Choose the size that’s circumference is closest to your head circumference without going over– up to 2½” of negative ease is good. Sample shown is Adult S/M on a 21” head with 1½” negative ease.
MATERIALS
YARN: In sport weight yarn:
C1 (yellow) - 70 (95, 135, 155) yds 63 (87, 123, 142) m
C2 (blue) - 45 (75, 100, 125) yds 41 (67, 91, 114) m
Sample was knit with Cascade 220 Sport (100% wool; 164 yards/50g) in Goldenrod (C1) and Blue Velvet (C2).
NEEDLES: dpns, and 12” or 16” circular needle in US 5 (3.75 mm) & 3 (3.25 mm) OR size required to obtain gauge and two sizes smaller.
NOTIONS: 6 st mkrs, darning needle for weaving in ends.
GAUGE
With larger needle, 26 sts and 34 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in blocked stockinette.
