Embossed crochet: a combination of front post and back post double crochet

Abbreviations:
Traditionally, embossed crochet patterns only included charts and used complex abbreviations, making them less accessible. To simplify, I’ve shortened traditional abbreviations (e.g., FPdc = F, BPdc = B, FPdc2inc = F2i, FPdc2tog = F2t). While these require a brief learning curve, they are intuitive and easier to follow

About:
Cardigan can be worn in 4 ways: right- or wrong-side out or upside down, also with either side out. To make a stole, complete fronts only. Length is customizable, instructions for adjustments are included in the pattern.

3.25 mm, 2.75 mm (for sleeve bands only)

Recommended materials:

• Cropped sleeves (shown): 840 (920, 1070, 1260, 1430) g / 3124 (3421, 3979, 4685, 5317) yds / 17 (19, 22, 26, 29) skeins of Scheepjes Organicon yarn (100% Organic Soft Cotton; 170 m / 185.9 yds / 50 g; fingering weight) in Soft Sky color.
• Full length sleeves: 880 (960, 1120, 1310, 1490) g / 3272 (3570, 4165, 4871, 5540) yds / 18 (20, 23, 27, 30) skeins.
• Tapestry needle, stitch markers.

Sizes:

• S (M, L, XL-2X, 3X) / bust 99.4 (106.6, 121, 135.4, 149.8) cm / 39 1/8 (42, 47 5/8, 53 ¼, 59)’’. Loose fitting cardigan fits best with positive ease 10-15 cm / 4-6’’ or bust 86.9 (94, 108.5, 122.9, 137.3) cm / 34 ¼, (37, 42 ¾, 48 3/8, 54)’’.
• Bust measurement is given with fronts overlapping by approx 10 cm / 4’’.
• Model is size M / 92 cm / 36 1/4’’ bust, 95 cm / 37 3/8’’ hips, 168 cm / 5’ 6’’ height, and wears size M.

Gauge:

• Back stitch: 5 reps (each 8 sts) = 18 cm / 7 1/16’’; 4 reps (each 8 rows) = 22 cm / 8 5/8’’. 22.22 sts x 14.55 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4’’.
