Construction Notes

This hat is designed to make either a cozy hat for yourself or a quick gift knit for those knitworthy people in your life with one skein of DK weight yarn! The pattern is written for all three sizes to have the same finished length of 9” (23 cm) with a folded brim, but you can easily adjust the length to your preferences by either adding or subtracting a body repeat.

Sizing

Small Head Circumference: 17”-20” (43- 51 cm)
Medium Head Circumference: 19.5”- 22.5” (49.5- 57 cm)
Large Head Circumference: 22”- 24.5” (56- 63 cm)
Pattern sample is a size medium modeled on a 22” head.

Suggested Needles

Ribbing: US 5 / 3.75 mm – 16” / 40 cm circular
Main Fabric: US 7 / 4.5 mm -16” / 40 cm circular, DPNs, or Magic loop. Adjust your needle size as needed to obtain gauge and go down two needle sizes for the brim.
