Curlew over Salcombe, shawl
Looking for a lovely getaway spot on the coast of Devon, I found Salcombe. Built on an hill, the buildings and trees form layers of shapes above the tranquil inlet speckled with small boats. The Curlew bird takes flight over Salcombe and we can only imagine his view of these small uniform Summer homes and starlike crafts on the dark smooth water.
This triangle shaped shawl can be knit in any type of lace to fingering weight yarn….tonal, solid, ombre, self-striping, variegated. You may keep with one yarn (lace~ 700 yrds or fingering~950 yrds) or add stripes of a complimentary solid colour (lace-~600 yrds, MC/150yrds. CC or fingering~850 yrds, MC/ ~200 yrds CC). There are approx. 500 beads, sized 6/0 or 8/0. You may use the same beads throughout or not (45/90/133/184 beads in any colour you like).
