Fair-isle hats are very satisfying hats to design. While they can start very plainly, they almost always finish up with a bang, a pop, a fabulous farewell in the design of the crown. Usually, the name of the hat comes from the design that ends up on the crown.

Dahlia has a wonderfully floral crown, a full-on feast of petals and colours I hope that you enjoy knitting her as much as I enjoyed designing her.

Approx 90 m, 100 yds of main colour, deep purple and approx. 25m, approx. 40 yds each of 5 other colours, lavender, pink, bright green, turquoise, green and 5 yds of dark blue.

Note on the Pattern – There are a few rounds where it is necessary to work with 3 colours, all in the crown.
