Dairy Cow & Highland Cow
Amigurumi crochet pattern for Dairy Cow and Highland Cow
Please note that this is a PDF of the crochet pattern and not the physical toy.
The pattern is written in English (American terms). Progress photos are provided.
Doll Size: Dairy Cow 26 cm tall
Highland Cow 30 cm tall
As the PDF is immediately available to download after purchase, refunds are not available.
I have rated the Dairy Cow as Easy (Beginner) and the Highland Cow as Difficult due to the loop stitches used for the Highland Cow’s head. I have provided a link to a handy video tutorial on how to crochet the loop stitches. They take some getting used to, but once you have it, the rest of the pattern is Easy/ Beginner.
Some previous knowledge of crochet is necessary as I do not explain how to crochet specific stitches, e.g. magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, increase, decrease, back loop only.
Materials:
Dairy Cow:
I used Hayfield Bonus DK 100% acrylic yarn in shades 0812: Cream (40g) and 0965: Black (15g) - Please keep in mind black yarn can be difficult to work with as it’s hard to see the individual stitches. You can try using a neck light or a lighter colour yarn if you’re getting frustrated! We’ve all been there. :)
I used a yarn similar to Hayfield Bonus DK 100% acrylic yarn shade 0561: Moon (3g)
Highland Cow:
I used Hayfield Bonus DK 100% acrylic yarn in shades 0581: Auburn (62g), 0575: Cocoa (4g) and 0812: Cream (2g)
Both Cows:
I used Hayfield Bonus DK 100% acrylic yarn in shade 0958: Iced Pink (1g)
Safety eyes – I use Tactile Treasures 9mm black Safety Eyes
Stuffing – I use Phoenix Fibres Recycled Polyester Filling
Crochet hook size US C/2 (2.75mm)
Large eye blunt needle
Stitch markers
