Daisies and Asters is a placemat and table runner set. The pieces are worked in a mesh stitch silhouetting squares with embroidered flowers. The placemat is worked from side to side, and the runner is worked from end to end. I-cord trims the selvedges of each piece.

This pattern includes directions for four sizes of table runner, but it’s easy to customize the length by adding or subtracting pattern repeats or lengthening the garter stitch borders. See Pattern Notes below for details on yarn amounts needed for each placemat and length customization.

At the end of the pattern I have included some optional directions, in Refinements, for knitters who want more precision in the details.
