Daisy
Daisy is worked top down in rounds on circular needle.
First cast on for neckband in rib. Short rows are
worked on the neckband to raise the neck and create
neckline.
When working the yoke, increases are evenly
distributed unto total stitch count has been achieved.
Work is then separated into body and sleeves. Sleeve
stitches are moved to stitch holders while the body is
finished.
When working the body, increases are made in both
sides and at mid back, to create a beautiful A-shape.
Finally short rows are worked on lower body, to round
the the sides and back of body.
Increases are worked before starting the rib hem, to
prevent the rib from tightening up.
At last rib is worked as twisted rib, and all stitches are
bound off using the Italian cast off technique.
Sleeves are worked in stockinette as well and finalized
with sleeve hem in twisted rib as on body.
Finally, beautiful Mille Fleur flowers with French knots
centers, are embroidered evenly distributed around the
yoke.
The dainty little daisy flower is often associated with innocence and purity.
In the world of poetry, it also symbolizes love, and its delicate petals represent the unspoken and secret and is often used for the innocent game of ‘loves me, loves me not’.
