Inspired by the zig zag section in my Take Two Shawl.
The cowl is worked flat from the bottom up with the side ribbing crocheted at the beginning and end of each row. The top is joined by overlapping a piece of the side ribbing, working an i-cord edge and adding a decorative button (optional).

The pattern is written in US crochet terms, but uses metric measurements.
