Dancing Cable Gloves
This pattern was a finalist for the 2009 TKGA Pattern Contest.
From the designer’s Ravelry project notes:
These gloves were inspired by an act of desperation, as we left for our tenth anniversary cruise, and, horrified, I discovered I had left all of my knitting on the couch at home. I had already had some idea of wanting to design these gloves and, having tracked down a knitting store in Miami hours before the ship was to set sail, I got to work.
The cabling pattern for these gloves is drawn from the “Baroque Socks” pattern at www.knitty.com, designed by Janice Kang (thanks, Janice!). However, I have taken a number of liberties, as one always does when converting socks to gloves. One thing (of which I am proudest) is the total lack of visible joins at the finger and thumb seams, even though the fingers and thumb are ribbed!
