This pattern is available individually or as part of the Ravellenics 2026 collection.

The hat is worked in stranded knitted, but 1/4 of the rows are worked in just one colour - one of the testers said the resting rounds felt like “a hug from the designer”.

You can work a ribbed cuff or a turn-under stockinette cuff.

Use DK or worsted weight yarn - allow approx. 150m/165yds of main colour and 50m/65yds of contrast colour.

Using a variegated, handspun or striping yarn for the contract colour helps to create a “dancing” effect.

The pattern has 2 charts: 1 for light main colour, the other for dark main colour to make chart reading easier.

Heather2009 swapped the k2tog and ssk and got a beautiful effect on the crown - see it here
