Dandelion Clock Slouch Hat
Named for the white seed heads of the common dandelion plant, this slouchy hat is the perfect spring accessory. It’s quick to knit in an Aran-weight yarn, and the lace pattern is easily memorized and fun to work.
MATERIALS NEEDED
Yarn:
Madelinetosh Tosh Chunky (100% merino; 165 yds/151 m per skein); 1 skein; color Natural
Yarn substitution note: although this yarn is labeled as a chunky weight, it works up closer to an Aran weight. If substituting yarn, you will need approximately 140 yds/128 m of Aran-weight yarn.
Recommended needles:
US #8/5.0 mm circular needle, 16” long
US #9/5.5 mm circular needle, 16” long
US #9/5.5 mm double-pointed needles, set of 4 or 5
Notions:
Yarn needle, stitch marker, head-sized bowl or plate for blocking
GAUGE
17 sts/26 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in garter stitch on smaller needles
15 sts/26 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in Dandelion Lace pattern on larger needles
