Dandelion Stitch Sampler Shawl
The Dandelion Stitch Sampler Shawl is both process and product knitting. A fun, crescent shaped shawl, Dandelion is comprised of ten different stitch patterns interspersed with soothing stocking stitch. You may not have encountered all these stitch patterns before – but they are fun to work, and best of all you only have to work them once before moving on to the next one. Knit with just two skeins of Madelinetosh Dandelion - this yarn has an amazing jewel-like depth of colour and a very subtle variegation. The luminescent beauty of this yarn enhances the unusual stitch patterns, and a classic feather and fan border finishes the shawl off in a pretty, scalloped embrace.
Yarn
Madelinetosh Dandelion: Colour A: Lepiodoptra - 210 metres (230 yards); colour B: Forestry - 230 metres (252 yards).
If you wish to substitute yarn, select a fingering / 4 ply weight solid yarn, or yarn with only subtle variegation.
Needles
4 mm (US6) 100 cm or longer: 4.5 mm (US7) needle or DPN for cast off.
The instructions for this shawl are written - all unusual techniques are fully explained. Some charts are included where they are useful, but you do not need to be able to read a chart to complete this shawl.
