The inspiration for this piece was drawn from the ancient Celtic Dara knot. Meant to represent the root system of a sacred oak tree (“doire”), it is a symbol of wisdom and inner strength. Aran cables on the poncho intertwine, embellishing it with its very own Dara knots.

The body of the piece is knit flat as a rectangle with cables running along the edge. Once finished, it’s folded in half and seamlessly joined with a cabled side panel. The neck opening is finished off with 2x2 Rib. Cabled panels are both charted and written.

Sample is 34–44” size; model is 31” chest.
