Notes From the Designer:
This design is inspired by a variety of rose and is also a subtle nod to Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice!
The design motifs in this shawl remind me of little roses climbing up a trellis. What looks like flowers, is actually a traditional Shetland lace pattern, called “Cat’s Paw.“ How resourceful those early knitters were, and how thankful I am that their ingenuity has been passed down to us.
This is a crescent shaped shawl that is knit from end to end. As you repeat the pattern, the width grows. Then, after working a few repeats without increasing, the decrease rows are repeated. When blocking, you may choose to leave the shawl straight (as knit), or curve it into a crescent shape. I am partial to the latter, as it tends to hug your shoulders and makes it easier to wear.

Gauge is not crucial to this project, but will affect yardage and size.
The length and the width of the shawl are both customizable.
Pattern comes with written and charted instructions.
