Notes From the Designer:
•Darling is a simple cowl that is crocheted in the round using the marling color technique to create an interesting visual. This cowl uses three colors and basic crochet stitches, making it the perfect project if you are a beginner to crochet and would like to expand your skills.
•The design is totally customizable so you can create your own unique wearable item. Personalizing this cowl to your own preferences is very easy since rounds can be added to make the cowl taller or removed to make it shorter. Use one color, two colors, or more and have fun creating your own Darling cowl.
•A perfect accessory to wear on those chilly days when you want ease and comfort and warmth!
•Click the Videos tab to watch a demonstration of the foundation double crochet used in this cowl!
Designer Inspiration:
As a teacher and a lifelong learner, I really enjoy immersing myself in educational activities to expand my skills. One of the first techniques that I learned when experimenting with crochet when I was younger was to hold two strands of yarn together to make the yarn thicker. This really helped make projects work up quicker and created an interesting look when those strands were different colors. This technique is called marling. Some of my most favorite projects were made with marled yarn. The colors become softer and appear to have a heathered look. This design was very fun for me and gave me the opportunity to share what I have learned over the years with you, the crocheter. I hope you enjoy making this cowl and look forward to seeing your completed projects.
