Dash the Cat
** DIGITAL PATTERN ONLY, no physical item will be shipped **
Dash the Cat is dressed in his best devil costume – from his pointed horns to his sharp tail. He even has some claws to add some extra ‘edge’ to his costume.
Dash is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Dash is approx. 12cm tall.
You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).
Please contact me immediately if you have purchased this pattern thinking it is an actual toy as I do not process refunds after the PDF file has been downloaded.
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
- 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted, 50g GREY, 25g in CHARCOAL, RED, PINK and WHITE
- BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
- A pair of 8mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker (optional)
Notes:
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
- When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item.
- I’ve used the following yarns: o GREY = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 058 Silver Grey o CHARCOAL = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 080 Slate o RED = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 028 Red o PINK = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 012 Candy Pink o WHITE = Ricorumi DK by Rico Design in col. 001 White
- I have used plastic safety eyes but you may choose to embroider the eyes. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
