A texture that is both pleasing to the eye and fun to knit, the dashed texture highlights the beautiful colors in variegated yarn.

Dashing Socks are knit top down using a “dashed” texture alternated with rows of stockinette. A faux heel flap and gusset is created using increases, a slip-stitch texture for the back of the heel, and short rows with decreases to create a square heel turn. The sock is finished with a rounded toe.

If knitting a sock longer than the largest circumference
with foot length for a women’s US 9/10 with a leg length
of 4”, a second skein may be needed.

As you make the first sock, it may be helpful to record
the number of rounds worked for the leg and foot as a
reference for the second sock.
