A quick and simple knit, perfect for beginners or a relaxing weekend project for experienced knitters.

It’s great for using up yarn from your aran stash, or you can treat yourself to a beautifully soft merino super chunky for an extra touch of luxury. Pure, simple stitches – just the joy of knitting.

CONSTRUCTION
Knitted flat in one piece from the bottom up with one seam.

TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, decreasing. Joining one seam. Optional but recommended to create the feeling of joy when joining your pieces: mattress stitch.

YARN
One (two) 100g balls of a superchunky yarn
65m/71yds per 100g.
OR
One 50g ball each of Aran Donegal Tweed in shade A & shade B
80m/88yds per 50g.

SUGGESTED KNITTING NEEDLES
9mm.

GAUGE (tension)
10 stitches and 18 rows to 10cm square over garter stitch. I obtained this gauge with 9mm needles.
It is important to obtain the correct gauge so do work a swatch before you start the pattern and change your needle size to achieve the correct gauge if you need to.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
To fit adult head.
