The DAWN TO DUSK Shawl is for those of us who don’t believe “Sunday Best” is just for Sundays, who don sparkly shoes for the weekly shop, and wear frills and polka dots to tea. With all its textures and colours, this is a shawl to pop on at dawn and show off until dusk, no matter where you are.

ONE SIZE
Approx 160cm/63” wide x 72cm/28½” deep

CONSTRUCTION
DAWN TO DUSK is a crescent-shaped shawl, worked outward from the top centre edge. It consists of 8 equal wedges, arranged in mirror image around a central spine. Mark the spine with a stitch marker in a different colour to those used to mark the wedges.

YARN
Yarn A: Scheepjes Metropolis (fingering; 75% merino wool / 25% nylon; 200m per 50g), 1 ball in Jakarta (071 – light grey)
Yarn B1: Scheepjes Mohair Rhythm (lace; 70% mohair / 30% mircofibre; 200m per 25g) 1 ball in Foxtrot (pink)
Yarn B2: The Mimo Yarn Co. Slub (fingering; 90% Merino / 10% Nylon 425m/100g), 1 skein in Millions (pink with speckles)
Yarn C: CaMaRose Organic Everyday Wool (sport; 100% organic wool; 150m per 50g), 5 balls in Mork Okker (yellow)
This shawl uses three colours, A, B, and C. For B, hold together one strand of mohair (B1) and one strand of slub (B2) at all times.

Yarn Alternatives
One of the main features of this design is that it uses different fibres to achieve a variety of textures. Feel free to experiment with any combination of 4-ply or heavy 4-ply/sport weight fibres.
Note on slub yarn (yarn B2): The sample uses one skein of slub from The Mimo Yarn Co. This yarn is currently out of production. A good, UK-based alternative would be Slub Sock in Gymnocalycium (pink tones) or Muscula (orange tones) by Vicki Brown.

3.5 mm hook, or as required to obtain gauge
