Dreamcatchers originate from the Ojibwe people of North America who believed they would protect sleeping children from bad dreams. Originally they were hung from the hoop of a cradleboard where the bad dreams would become entangled in the delicate web-like net, allowing only good thoughts to pass through to the dreamer. This belief has now been adopted by many people across the world and I keep one hanging in my studio to remind me not to dwell on negative or uncreative thoughts.

The pattern is written using standard UK terms and includes clear charts for the crochet elements of the design as well as clear written instructions for preparing the final dreamcatcher.

FINISHED SIZE
18 x 86cm (7 x 34 inches).

GUAGE
Using 2 strands of yarn held together, 6 rounds of circular motif worked in treble stitches with 12 stitch increase each round = 10cm (4 inches) diameter.

YARN
Yarn Stories Linen 3ply in 102 / Off-white.

MATERIALS
17.5cm (7 inch) metal ring.
1 x long quarter of fabric.
15 x 12mm (1/2 inch) buttons.
