The Daydreamer Skirt is worked seamlessly from the top down. The design begins with simple sections of stockinette stitch and faux cables, followed by a flowing lace hem worked in a combination of delicate stitch patterns. The waistband is folded to create a casing, and an elastic band is inserted at the end for a comfortable fit.

The faux cable pattern is worked without eyelets until the skirt reaches past the underwear line, ensuring coverage and preventing the lace openings from revealing what’s worn underneath.

The lace patterns are provided in chart form only.

For the stitch patterns to stand out beautifully, I recommend choosing a solid or slightly tonal colorway. The skirt is designed for DK weight yarn, but it can also be knit by holding one strand of fingering weight yarn together with a strand of silk mohair for a softer, more textured fabric.

The skirt is meant to be ankle length but it can easily be modified for shorter fit. You can easily adjust it to suit your style by working more or fewer pattern repeats. I recommend trying the skirt on as you go to achieve your preferred length and fit.

Styling tips:
The Daydreamer Skirt is designed to be a versatile summer staple. Pair it with the matching tee for an effortless set, or style it with a simple tank top, oversized shirt, or lightweight knit. For a more polished look, wear it with sandals or ballet flats; for a relaxed feel, style it with sneakers.

Soft neutrals like cream, sand, or chocolate brown create an elegant, timeless look, while brighter shades (like bubblegum pink or other playful tones) highlight the lace details and give the skirt a more statement feel. Whether styled for everyday wear or dressed up for a special occasion, the Daydreamer Skirt is made to move with you through the summer.
