De Novo
There will be a KAL running in the Fish Belly Fiber Works Group for this design from October 7 until December 7. We’d love for you to join us!
History
“De novo” is a phrase that means “from the beginning; anew.”
The pattern for this design began back in 2016 as a cowl. I knit the sample, wrote the pattern, had it edited and even tested. But I wasn’t happy with it overall. It never seemed complete.
In the Fall of 2017, I had a chance meeting with Holly of Fish Belly Fiber Works at a yarn festival. We talked about potentially collaborating on a project and a tiny seed was planted. I was drawn to Waterfall, a beautiful single-ply, and knew that was the base I wanted to work with. I knit up a quick swatch in the abandoned pattern, something clicked and it was reborn as a shawl.
This pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit.
