Decarhombi Bag
The Decarhombi (deck-ah-ROM-bye) bag is worked modularly using a total of ten (deca) squares (rhombi) in two different sizes. By using a combination of casting on new stitches and picking up stitches along existing squares, the bag is knit without any seams.
The unusual construction of the bag is gracefully highlighted through the use of ombre striping yarns such as Plymouth Boku shown here. Noro Kureyon, Soy Wool Strips, and Karoke are other yarns that would yield similar results.
The pattern is written for one size with guidance on changing the size and substituting yarns. It also includes two handle options - commercial leather or i-cord.
One small square is 6.5 inches per side pre-felting and 4.25 inches post-felting.
