December Infinity Scarf
I bought one Madelinetosh Merino Light skein in the Teddy Bear colorway, a fingering weight of 440 yards per skein, and it’s been laying around waiting for the perfect project.
Then I realised that a moss structure would look much like oats and that in combination with a smock pattern could look like sheafs. In Sweden people used to put out sheafs for the over-winter birds (among them the handsome Bullfinch, the little Bluetit and the Great tit). Nowadays of course there are much more advanced feeding options for birds so you don’t see sheafs too often…
Materials needed
Yarn: About 440 yards of fingering weight yarn for pattern as written, though the amount needed can be modified by changing the number of pattern repeats.
Needles:
• 4 mm (US 6) circular needles for knitting in the round
• A 4 mm (US 6) double pointed needle (DPN) or cable needle
Measurements
After blocking, my example was 116 cm (45.7 inches) in circumference and 22 cm (8.7 inches) wide. Perfect for wrapping around your neck twice.
Thanks to Tovels for reviewing the pattern!
