The pattern combines tapestry and intarsia crochet techniques, and was originally designed for Crochet Now Magazine a few years ago. I’ve revisited and refined it to make it even better for you now … I’m thrilled with how it’s turned out, and I hope you’ll love it too.

The pattern includes step by step instructions, a very helpful chart and photo tutorial. It is available in English, in both UK and US terminology. The skill level for the pattern is Intermediate and skills that are needed are:

  • tapestry crochet
  • intarsia crochet
  • reading a chart
  • UK double crochet/US single crochet
  • colour changing
  • forward crab stitch (there are detailed instructions in the pattern for this)
  • embroidery detailing which includes straight stitches and French knots.

The yarns used for this project are:
Drops Design Muskat DK (100% Cotton, 50g/100m)
Rico Creative Lame DK (62% polyester/38% Polyamide, 25g/135m)

The finished dimensions are:
21cm wide x 24.5cm high (8.3 inches x 9.6 inches high) (without bamboo/dowel)
