Deep Grooves Cowl

Advancing Beginner Skills.
Knit, Purl and Slip.
Worked Flat and Joined with a 3 Needle BO or Graft.
Optional Decorative I-cord.

Includes both line-by-line abbreviated instructions and a chart.

Tidy Slipped Stitch Selvage Edges.
Fully Reversible.
Fast and Fun with Impressive End Results.

A “trick” with overlapping placement of simple knit and purl checks makes a deeply dimensional texture.

Especially fun with high variegate yarns, but any color type is lovely.

Adjustable to maximize yarn on hand =knit to desired length or almost out of yarn.

The tighter the stitches the deeper the grooves! Tested beautifully with a lighter yarn and more open gauge as well, so any Yarn Needle pairing is fair game!

Blocking is not required - but you can. Treat your gauge Swatch as you will your FO.

Yarn

420 yards (394 m) DK Weight Yarn
~ Sample used 2 Hanks - 420 yds /384 m
Malabrigo Dos Tierras in Diana

50% Merino, 50% Alpaca (Tightly Plied) @
210 yds (192 m) per 100 g

Note: Dos Tierras is dense and tightly plied so, though the yardage is comparable to a Worsted, it knits up like a DK.
