With the help of this written crochet pattern you’ll be able to make your own cute deer, 4-way jointed using plastic doll joints (or buttons and thread), with moving arms and legs.
Includes one PDF file, 21 pages.
Pattern is written in English, using US crochet terminology. I included detailed instructions, many step-by-step photos and useful tips and tricks.
SIZE
27 cm (10 2/3”) from head to toe, when crocheted with DK weight alpaca wool and a 2,50 mm hook.
DIFFICULTY
3: Intermediate – includes some less common crochet techniques and color changes.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Crocheting in spiral.
- Slip stitch and single crochet stitch.
- Increasing and decreasing.
YOU WILL NEED
- Yarn. I used DROPS ‘Lima’, a DK weight alpaca and wool blend, 100 m = 50 g (109 yd = 50 g) / 8 ply / 11 wpi / 3: light. You will need about 95 g of beige, 15 g of brown and 10 g of white yarn.
- 2.50 - 3.00 mm crochet hook (US size 2/C - 3/D).
- Polyester fiberfill, wool, etc. for stuffing.
- 12 mm (1/2”) safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt etc.
- Two 20 mm (4/5”) and two 16 mm (3/5”) doll joints or safety eyes or buttons.
- Dark brown cotton embroidery floss.
- Yarn needle, scissors, sewing pins, stitch marker.
