Dee's Diamond Scarf to Knit
Intro from the magazine:
“The shape was inspired by the Raha Scarf …from Knitted Lace of Estonia: Techniques, Patterns, and Traditions …, a design that is made using one repeat in width of an Estonian lace pattern. The scarf uses a textured technique called nupp (knob or button), which is a specialty of Estonian lace knitting…”
This is a very good beginner project for some one who wants to learn how to knit Estonian lace. It uses many traditional techniques, including garter stitch; right, left, and centered decreases; nupps. The knitting gauge is not as important for this project. While pattern suggests laceweight yarn, the scarf can also be made using fingering weight yarn. In this case the final dimentions of the scarf will differ from those specified in the pattern.
