In 2018 something happened, worthy of recording for posterity! My younger daughter looked at (another) one of my hat designs, saying, “perhaps you could make me one of these?” (words to that effect), then, “but could you change …?’’ Of course I could, since it was only the 2nd time in her adult life that she had asked me to knit her something. We were both pleased with the outcome, to my great delight. Other designs have been born & published since this one was first made, but to finally publish this as a pattern some 4 years later, feels extra special, since it marks & honours a truly memorable, & unique collaboration.

ABOUT THE DESIGN:
In a nutshell, this is a simple design that’s so interesting & fun to knit, it seems to fly off the needles! It has a little bit of slouch, & is not firm fitting. It begins with a simple rib variation, which flows seamlessly into a combination of stockinette, eyelet rows & a lovely bit of texture in between.
