Inspired by woodland walks close to my home, where little waterfalls tumble through the trees, this delicate lace wrap captures that gentle movement in its fluid drape and natural motifs. It’s a perfect light layer for shaded summer strolls or cooler moments at the start and end of the day.

The wrap is knitted flat in 2 pieces worked from the bottom up and then joined together to ensure both ends match, particularly at the border and to preserve the directional motifs of the lace which would appear upside down if knitted on one piece.

The pieces are joined by grafting (Kitchener stitch) live stitches to achieve an invisible join. If preferred, a 3 needle cast-off can be used instead, but will form a visible seam.

Currently available in Knit Now issue 195 along with accompanying tutorial.
