One of my oldest friends (we’re talking preschool playmates here people!), a UC Santa Cruz alum (go Banana Slugs!), is gearing up to welcome his first son. This design was commissioned by him for his little boy, but he agreed to let me spread the joy along to you all after we saw how cute it came out.

Using Lily Sugar ‘n Cream cotton yarn and a US 3.75mm/F hook yields me a slug approximately 18 centimeters (7 inches) long, making it a great size for tiny, uncoordinated hands to grapple with as they learn to explore their new world.
