The Delkash Dress is a discretely fitted short dress with ¾ length sleeves worked in Stockinette Brioche. Like the more known ribbed Brioche Knitting, the Stockinette Brioche is an exciting way to work Brioche stitches – the main difference is that it creates a smoother fabric with slightly less drape and more hold than Brioche Knitting.

Stockinette Brioche is also a superb entry point if you haven’t worked with Brioche before, as it removes the usual confusion about whether
or not you are working a brk or a brp; in Stockinette Brioche brk and brp rows are worked separately and when working in the round you eliminate the brp completely.

Delkash Dress is knitted top-down with raglan sleeves. It is worked back and forth until the neckline is joined, the rest of the body and the sleeves are worked in the round. Last, the neckline sts are picked up and worked in the round. The dress is seamless, except from closing under arm holes and weaving in ends.

Yarn
The yarn used in the sample are Garnsurr Søkke Merino (4ply, 75% Merino/25% nylon, 425m/464yds per 100g) and Fyberspates Vivacious 4ply (100% Merino; 365m/399yds per 100g), both hand-dyed yarns. Testers have used a variety of high twist 4ply yarns.

Needles
2.5mm (Us 1-2) and 3mm (US 2-3) circulars. Adjust length of cable according to amount of sts, and for sleeves use magic loop or dpns. Knit a swatch to make sure you reach the correct tension, and if necessary adjust your needle size accordingly.
