Dermot is a long-sleeved, button-front cardigan with a double neckline border. It is knitted with three strands of yarn held together: one silk and mohair, and two alpaca and silk, for a very soft and warm feel. It can be worn closed, almost like a sweater, or open. In short, your new must-have!

Sizes: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 8 – 9

• 4 – 4 – 5 – 5 – 5 – 6 – 6 – 7 – 7 skeins of Drops Kidsilk (Or any lace yarn).
• 12 – 12 – 14 – 14 – 16 – 16 – 18 – 18 – 20 skeins of Drops Brushed Alpaca silk. (Or any sport yarn). The number of skeins given here is to use two yarns in addition to the Kidsilk yarn.
Approximately for each yarn: 735 – 800 – 870 – 939 – 1000 – 1083 – 1157 – 1233 – 1311 meters / 805 – 875 – 951 – 1027 – 1094 – 1185 – 1266 – 1349 – 1434 yards.
• Needles: 4,5 and 5,5 mm / US 7 and 9 circular needles, 80 cm length, or size to meet gauge.
• 6 buttons ( 25 mm in diameter).

Gauge: 15 sts and 21 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches in stockinette stitch worked flat and in the round on 5,5 mm / US 9 needles with three strands of yarn held together (one Kidsilk and two brushed alpaca silk).

Chest circumference (fullest point): 100 – 110 – 120 – 130 – 140 – 150 – 160 – 170 – 180 cm / 39 ¼ - 43 ¼ - 47 ¼ - 51 ¼ - 55 – 59 – 63 – 67 – 70 ¾ inches.

To be worn with 20 – 30 cm / 7 ¾ - 11 ¾ inches of positive ease. To choose which size to fit, measure your chest circumference, add recommended or desired ease and knit the corresponding size in chest circumference (fullest point). (I wear size 3 with 32 cm / 12 ½ inches positive ease).

To knit Dermot, you will have to be able to work in stockinette stitch flat and in the round, 1/1 rib stitch, increases and decreases, cast on and bind off, yarn over.

Dermot est un gilet à manches longues, boutonné, avec un col double montant, tricoté avec trois fils, un de mohair et soie et deux d’alpaga et soie, pour un rendu extrêmement moelleux et chaud. Il peut se porter soit fermé, presque comme un pull soit ouvert, bref, votre nouvel indispensable !

• 12 – 12 – 14 – 14 – 16 – 16 – 18 – 18 – 20 pelotes de Brushed Alpaca silk Drops. (Ou fil équivalent d’épaisseur sport ou DK). Le nombre de pelotes ici est donné afin d’utiliser deux fils de Brushed alpaca en plus du fil de kidsilk.
Équivalent métrage pour chacun des trois fils : 735 – 800 – 870 – 939 – 1000 – 1083 – 1157 – 1233 – 1311 mètres.
• Aiguilles circulaires n°4,5 et n°5,5 (longueur conseillée 80 cm).
• 6 boutons d’environ 25 mm de diamètre.

Échantillon : réalisé en jersey endroit à plat et en circulaire, avec les trois fils pris ensemble (1 kidsilk et 2 brushed alpaca silk) et les aiguilles n°5,5 : 15 mailles x 21 rangs pour un carré de 10 x 10 cm.

Tour de poitrine du gilet : 100 – 110 – 120 – 130 – 140 – 150 – 160 – 170 – 180 cm.

Aisance positive recommandée 20 – 30 cm. Pour choisir quelle taille faire, mesurer son tour de poitrine, y ajouter l’aisance recommandée ou souhaitée, et tricoter la taille correspondante en tour de poitrine du gilet (C). (Je porte une taille 3 avec environ 32 cm d’aisance positive).
