•My main inspiration for this pattern is one of my favorite songs, Desert Moon, by Dennis DeYoung. The lyrics describe the feeling that most of us have when we look back and reflect on our youth. We realize that we were dreamers in a hurry to grow up. One of the dreams that I had in my youth was to travel. This dream was realized a few years ago when we took our kids on a road trip out west. The most memorable part of the trip was the many colors of the sky in the desert areas.

•This pattern highlights the memories I have of the sky during that trip and also the memories I have of the way the moonlight showcased different landmarks. The top of the ottoman is a simple smooth texture using a darker yarn to resemble the night sky, while the middle section resembles the texture of the landmarks being highlighted by the moonlight. The last section goes back to the smooth texture to resemble the ground not shown clearly in the light.

•I had a lot of fun creating this pattern for you and cannot wait to see your projects!
