Dewey Decimal Hat
This slouchy tweed hat has a secret code stitched into it- a number that yarn and library enthusiasts will recognize. I love that you can walk into any library and (thanks to the Dewey decimal system) you can easily find the collection of knitting and crocheting books without looking anything up on a computer. 746.43 = library + knitting!
The Dewey Decimal Hat features a stranded knitting pattern with my favorite Dewey decimal # and hearts (to show my love), tweedy stripes, and a cute hemmed button band. Made using Knit Picks City Tweed DK, it is super soft, drapes nicely, and knits up quickly.
This pattern is in the book Stitching in the Stacks, which is available in both print and digital format via Cooperative Press (the digital edition is also available here on Ravelry).
