Diagonal Chevrons
My notes on appearance and construction: Afghan features a diagonal texture overlaid on a pattern of wide stripes. Main stitches are single crochet and double crochet. It has a clean design that will work with modern and transitional decor. Worked from right side only, yarn is joined at every row with tails left creating fringe. Fringe is an integral part of the design - it would be easier to include it than not. The appearance of the fringe could be altered by tying in different ways.
“This afghan is self-fringing-you make the fringe as you crochet each row. To create the textured pattern, double crochet stitches are worked in a slanting pattern.” - source=The 7-Day Afghan Book pg 88.
Additional Gauge: 8 rows (sc) = 2.5”
