Diamond Ladder Crochet Scarf
I fell in love with this yarn. It was a lone skein of hand-spun hand-dyed made using soy silk, tencel, merino wool, baby camel and a sparkle thread, in creams, browns and pinks. There was only one, it is unique. So I bought it.
But what to do with a single skein – just over 125m of lovely bulky yarn? It had to be scarf, something light and airy but also simple, to show off the yarn. And long enough to wrap round the neck several times to keep you warm. And it had to be quick, I was impatient as I wanted to use the yarn quickly! And I wanted to use every little bit of the yarn, which I did. I think the end result shows the yarn off well, but it is so difficult to show the sparkles in photographs.
The finished size is 180cm by 22cm, when blocked rigorously.
The scarf can be made to any yarn weight but I recommend at least a bulky yarn (Rowan Cocoon is a favourite of mine and would work well with this).
Please note that as I used a handspun yarn it may block differently to yarn you may use – I found it blocked much larger than I made it.
