The book gives quantities, hook and gauge information for all six patterns as follows:

Bedspread Weight Thread (Size 10): All models are shown in Cotton SOUTH MAID, No. 1 White. One 400 yard/366 meter ball is required for each doily.

Susan Bates Steelite Crochet Hook: U.S. Size 7 (1.5 mm). Note that a U.S. Size 7 normally is a 1.65 mm hook. This book defines a Size 7 as a 1.5 mm hook, which is usually the size given for a Size 8.

Gauge: Finished (blocked) size is given in each pattern. Size before blocking will be slightly smaller.

This Diamond Landscape doily should measure 12.5” / 32 cm in diameter. The doily is worked in 18 rounds. The pattern begins on page 15 and is verbal instructions; there is no stitch diagram or symbol chart pattern.

Be advised that the diamonds will slant one way on a doily made by a right-handed crocheter; the other way for a left-handed crocheter. The doily photographed in the book was made by a left-handed stitcher, and appears to slant the opposite direction from the doily stitched by MrsFife.
