Diamond Smackdown
What’s your idea of extreme knitting? Knitting while running a marathon or riding on horseback? How about while jumping rope or swimming? Or is knitting with friends at knit night extreme enough for you? Whatever challenge you choose, Diamond Smackdown will hold its own. Autopilot garter stitch, simple side-to-side shaping, and an integrated lace border unite in a shawl that is easy to knit anywhere, easy to wear anywhere.
Diamond Smackdown is a shallow triangle shawl that can be worked in any weight of yarn. Needle sizes are suggested for laceweight through worsted, but you can simply choose needles that produce the fabric you like. Because it is worked from tip to tip, the shawl is great for using up the entire ball of yarn. Work increases until almost half of the yarn is used up, work the center rows, and finish with decreases to the end. The diamond lace edging is easy to memorize, too, so it’s terrific for knitting on the go.
Whether you need a project for your next marathon, knit night, or just a quiet evening at home, Diamond Smackdown will fit the bill.
