This flattering shawl begins with a provisional cast on at the neck and increases regularly to create eight segments that are separated by occasional beaded diamonds. The border is knit on from side to side, both at the bottom edge and at the neck, for an attractive finish.

• provisional cast on at collar, knit from neck down
• knit-on edging at bottom and collar
• charted and written lace, lace knitting every other row
• beads highlight the diamond design

Knit in Muireann, a silk and linen blend, it has great drape and feels luxurious.

The pattern includes stitches like yo, single decreases (ssk, k2tog) and double decreases (s2kp), and lifted increases.

Many thanks to my wonderful model Francine!

This pattern was test knit in a variety of yarns ranging from lace weight to fingering weight and the depth of shawls ranged from about 18” to 24”.
